Using state-of-the-art methods in cellular and molecular biology as well as functional analytics Axiogenesis develops novel techniques in diagnosis and therapy of economically and medically relevant diseases. Basis of Axiogenesis' daily work are genetically modified mouse embryonic stem cells. Our assay systems can be used for screening of new compounds (chemicals, drugs, consumables) on the developing embryo and on regular differentiated functional tissue.
Beside the identification of toxic and teratogenic compounds our assays are also used to search for tissue-specific signaling molecules ("small molecules") for the development of a new generation of drugs.

Further development of our cell-based assays to high throughput screening allows efficient testing of new compounds on important tissues (heart, neurons, vessels, cartilage) at low cost rates. Furthermore, using Axiogenesis' assay systems, the amount of animal testing in toxicology and drug development can be markedly reduced.
