Velcura is emerging as a leading bone disease biotechnology company focused on developing highly differentiated therapies. Velcura mitigates risk in drug development by linking its strong scientific understanding of human bone disease to the discovery of novel therapeutic targets. From there we in-license and develop small molecules with the potential to restore bone health and where Velcura can add value by rapidly moving them to POC clinical trials. Following clinical trials, Velcura seeks strategic partnerships for continued development of the compounds. Our lead compound, VEL-0230, was identified using bone assays and subsequently licensed from our strategic partner, Nippon Chemiphar LTD, a Japanese pharmaceutical company with strong expertise in medicinal chemistry. VEL-0230 is currently in phase 1 clinical trials.
